Mayes Accountants Celebrates 50 years in business.
1974 - 2024

Published 24 May 2024

This year marks our 50th anniversary in business.  Mayes accountants started in 1974 with the partnership of David Mayes and Norman Snodgrass.  Today we have 18 employees under the leadership of four directors Gavin, Craig, Sylvie and Anne.

Our existing team has amassed 275 working years at Mayes between us.  A little-known fact about our team is that over the 50 years in business we have had four team members meet at Mayes resulting in two weddings.

Half a century in business is a great accomplishment and a source of pride and we can only have achieved this as a firm with the motivation and dedication of our team and our loyal clients.

At the time of formation there were no business computers to help in producing accounts and we acquired our first team computers around 1990.  This has greatly changed, and we are continually evolving as a firm to keep up with new technologies such as automation and AI to give our clients the very best service, whilst continuing to keep up our teams’ knowledge with current legislation.

Looking to the future we remain committed to our clients as trusted advisors and working as a team to achieve this.
